          Rick Reed

Fiddle and Harmony Vocals

Born on May 16th in Winfield, Alabama, Rick spent  most of his youth involved in everything but music. In the late sixties, early seventies, he went through the “Hippie Revolution”, learning to play guitar and following such greats as Three Dog Night, The Doors and Blood, Sweat and Tears.

After graduation, marriage, a family and a day job took priority until in 1983, Rick decided to try his hand at the fiddle and has never looked back. From bluegrass to country to Dave Matthews, Rick has become a much sought after musician in the Southeast. As one of the former members of the “Cooter Brown Band”, Rick has had the opportunity to open for such greats as Tim McGraw, Dixie Chicks, Charlie Daniels, Toby Keith, Colin Raye, Shenandoah and many others.

In 2004 Rick and David Jones, another former member of the Cooter Brown Band put together the current group, “Rowdy Knights”. The “Knights” are currently playing venues all over the Southeast.

A Chief Technical Specialist for Alabama Power by day and musician by night,  Rick is very active in community events.

Because of Ricks unique “Zeta Fiddle”, his high powered solos and his “strolling through the crowd” ballads, his one of a kind sound adds another dynamic facet to the”Rowdy Knights”.
